Lhasa, capital of southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, promotes a batch of rural tourism programs along the north ring road, including Tadong village, Reting Forest Park and Tsurpu Gou, which helps the local residents get rid of poverty.

Lhasa is planning to make full use of the tourism resources in Tadong village and forge an excellent tour line along the north ring road this year.

With an average annual sunlight time of over 3,000 hours, Lhasa is known as the "city of sunlight". It boasts hundreds of heritage sites under protection. In 2017, Lhasa received 16.06 million tourists from home and abroad, generating about 22.74 billion yuan in tourism revenue, which also hits the record in history. Lhasa will continue to strengthen the construction of infrastructures and stimulate the development of cultural industry, adding the new impetus to Tibet's tourism. All townships will have access to bus service. 100 kilometer-long road is expected to be built for rural tourism and poverty alleviation.

Tadong village, located in the southwest Lhasa, is a must-see scenic spot for visitors. It welcomed more than 100,000 tourists last year, which created over one hundred jobs for local residents. 51 poverty-stricken households have got rid of poverty.

By the end of 2017, the number of farmers and herdsmen engaged in tourism had reached 125,000, with per capita income of 12,000 yuan (about $1,888). Nowadays, Tibet has formed a new development pattern with tourism-aid program.
