Qinghai Tibetan medicine research institute established
Qinghai Nationalities University recently established the Qinghai Province Tibetan Medicine Research Institute, which will be based on the resources, geographical and ethnic advantages of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.
The newly established research institute combines resources from the university’s School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, School of Ecology and Environmental Resources, School of Ethnology and Sociology and the provincial Qinghai-Tibet Plateau Phytochemistry Key Laboratory, as well as the Pharmaceutical Analysis Key Laboratory. In addition, a team of five scientific research experts and 18 research personnel will undertake the rescue and collation of ancient Tibetan medicine literature, basic theoretical research, national and industry standards formulation, key technological breakthrough, Tibetan medicine resources exploration and sustainable development, and other scientific research tasks for public welfare.
According to the plan, the Qinghai Province Tibetan Medicine Research Institute will establish itself a higher education service platform for technology and innovation in the Tibetan medicine industry and a Tibetan medicine talent cultivation base with a comprehensive system of complete and leading academic disciplines.
