China, Austria to strengthen military cooperation
BEIJING, May 30 (Xinhua) -- Chinese State Councilor and Minister of National Defense Wei Fenghe and Othmar Commenda, Chief of the General Staff of the Austrian Armed Forces, pledged to strengthen cooperation between the two militaries during their meeting in Beijing on Wednesday.
The Chinese military is willing to work with the Austrian side to build a community of shared future for the humanity and build the Belt and Road Initiative, said Wei, noting that Austria is an important partner of China in Europe.
He also expressed the willingness of the Chinese military to deepen the development of mutual military exchanges and cooperation, as well as help develop the Sino-Austrian friendly strategic partnership.
Austria looks forward to promoting fruitful cooperation between the two countries and militaries, and is willing to make joint efforts with China to bring their pragmatic cooperation to a new high, said Commenda.
