Tibet to transmit 1 bln kWh of clean energy outside of region in 2018
Southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region plans to transmit up to 1 billion kilowatt-hours of clean electricity to other provinces in China this year, up nearly 8 percent compared with previous year, the regional power company said Wednesday.
The regional electric power trading company said it would transmit about 600 million kWh of electricity to Gansu Province, and another over 400 million kWh to other provinces in northern, central and southwestern China.
Tibet has abundant sources of clean energy. As of the end of 2017, the region had installed a total capacity of 2.57 million kWh of clean energy including hydro and photovoltaic power.
