"In order to fully revitalize Dadong Village, we are focusing on promoting local talents," Liao Qiang, general manager of Beautiful Potala Cultural and Creative Industries Development Co., Ltd of Lhasa, said during the event.

He said that Dadong Village as one of China's rural tourism experimental bases will launch a makers' space this year. The project will create an economic and cultural incubator for Tibetan folk culture and at the same time integrate a service platform for employment and entrepreneurship for local farmers, nomads, and university students after they graduate.

The project is expected to take five years and will attract 91 maker teams, including 34 ones by local farmers, nomads, and returning university students with 26 have been succeeded. 555 new jobs will be created, including 275 for local people, and the total output value of makers' space is expected to reach 25.5 million yuan (4.01 million US dollars).

On April 28, Dadong Village – an ancient village along the Lhasa River in Tibet – welcomed the second Peach Blossom Festival.

Dadong Village has beautiful natural scenery and a long history, and in 2016, it was selected as one of China's most beautiful villages. There are two ancient temples in the village, a palace belonging to the sixth Dalai Lama Tsangyang Gyatso, a water spring that Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava) himself cut open using a scepter, and other interesting sites.
