New railway lines opened for the "Tangzhu Ancient Route Train"
As an extension of the Qinghai-Tibet Raiway, known as the Sky Road, since opened its first "Tangzhu Ancient Route Train" Z8801/2 and Z8803/4 in 2017, Lhasa-Shigatse railway has send more than 1.4 million passengers in total, which effectively accelerates the development of tourism industry and greatly promotes socio-economic development of Tibet.
On the morning of July 3th, the launch ceremony for the "Tangzhu Ancient Route Train" serving as the "Lhasa-Damxung-Nagqu" intercity special train was held in Lhasa Railway Station.

Based on the current "Tangzhu Ancient Route Train" running in Lhasa to Shigatse section, the train will also be put into service in lines to Damxung, Nagqu and Xining.
From July 1 on, with the train Z6811/2 fromXining to Lhasa extending its destination to Shigatse, the straight railway form Shigatse City to Qinghai Province is interconnected and makes traveling more convenient for passengers.

Entering the train, ethnic elements featuring with Tibetan characteristic, historical figures and historical stories can be seen everywhere.

Tenzin, working in Lhasa, accompanied her mother back to home Shigatse. On the train they were surprised by the beautiful train."On the train, there are so many ethnic elements which make it feel like at home. In the past two years, we have more trains to get us home and the number of visitors to our hometown is rising," said Tenzin.
