2018 World Robot Contest Finals open in China
The 2018 World Robot Contest Finals opened Friday in Wuhan, capital of central China's Hubei Province, with over 5,000 contestants from home and abroad gathering together for the event.
During the three-day event, hundreds of teams consisting of international teenagers from more than ten countries, including Russia, Australia, and Israel, will use robots to compete in contests like three-on-three soccer and a race through water.
The competition is aimed at providing a communication platform for global teenagers and inspire students' interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, as well as develop their innovative thinking and operational ability, according to the organizers.
The human talent exchange center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and China Institute of Electronics are among the organizers of the event.
