2018 Shoton Festival Tibetan thangka exhibition kicks off
On August 11, the Shoton Festival, an annual traditional festival in Lhasa, southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, officially kicked off. This year, the thousand-year-old Shoton Festival lasts for one week. During this period, Lhasa holds a series of cultural events such as the display of Buddha thangka, Tibetan opera performances, and Tibetan clothing exhibitions.
One of these exhibitions is a Fine Thangka Exhibition held at the Community Art Center, , which has attracted many cultural enthusiasts.
A total of 150 pieces of fine Tibetan thangka art and two themed essays have been collected for this exhibition to showcase fine Tibetan painters and theorists.
The exhibition opened on August 11 and lasted until August 16.
