Thousands of migrant birds stop in Heihe River Wetland in Gansu
In recent days, thousands of black storks, Platalea leucorodias, egrets and other migrant birds have stopped to feed and play in the national Heihe River Wetland Nature Reserve in Zhangye, northwest China’s Gansu province.The Heihe River Wetland Nature Reserve is located in the middle reaches of Heihe river, the second largest inland river in China. With a total area of 615,000 mu(41,000 hectares), it is rich in natural resources and creates favorable conditions for the breeding of wild birds.
