China's Tibetan delegation wraps up Australia visit

A National People's Congress (NPC) delegation of legislators from southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region on Wednesday concluded a three-day visit to Australia.

The delegation, headed by Koncho Gyaltsen, deputy to the People's Congress of Tibet Autonomous Region and chairman of the Standing Committee of the Qamdo People's Congress, met with local politicians in New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory, as well as Tibetans in Australia.

Koncho Gyaltsen said that members of the delegation are all witnesses of the development and changes in Tibet. He hoped that through face-to-face exchanges, the delegation could help enhance understanding between the two sides and boost cooperation of the legislators with their Australian counterparts.

He noted that Tibet has always been an inseparable part of China, adding that Tibet's economy grows steadily, the society is stable, and people from all ethnic groups help each other, enjoying religious freedom, better environment and improving living standard.

During the talks, Australian officials expressed their wishes to continue exchanges between the two sides, boost mutual understanding and deepen trade and economic cooperation.
