Lhasa launches social security card
On August 8, the launching ceremony of social security card of Lhasa, capital city of southwest China's Tibet, was held on the plaza of civic service center.
The social security card, which is issued in the city for the first time, integrates social security functions with financial applications on an IC card chip, making it easier to pay for insurance, get policy advice, receive treatments, and other social consumption fees.
As of now, Lhasa has produced 141,743 cards and it is expected that 450,000 cards will be issued this year.
