Chinese premier to meet int'l institution chiefs on economic issues
Chinese Premier Li Keqiang will hold a roundtable meeting with the leaders of six major international economic and financial institutions in Beijing on Nov. 6, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lu Kang announced Tuesday.
They will discuss topics such as the current trend of the world economy, safeguarding the multilateral trade system, China's economy and reform and opening-up.
The six leaders are World Bank President Jim Yong Kim, International Monetary Fund Managing Director Christine Lagarde, World Trade Organization Director-General Roberto Azevedo, Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development Secretary-General Angel Gurria, Financial Stability Board Chairman Mark Carney and International Labor Organization Deputy Director-General Deborah Greenfield.
It will be the third roundtable meeting for Li and leaders of the six institutions. The previous two meetings were held in 2016 and 2017 respectively.
