Dagdong Village gets the “Most Beautiful Town in China” award

2016 mayors' forum of “Chinese Dream, Towns' Dream” and the award ceremony of “Most Beautiful Town in China” were held in China's south Guangdong province from Nov. 26 to 28. Dagdong Village of Newu District, China's Tibet Autonomous Regional capital Lhasa, won the “Most Beautiful Town in China” award.

Over the past seven months, 50 villages out of 536 were chosen as the “Most Beautiful Town in China” after being voted on the Internet, discussion on the seminar. Among the four awards -- humanity award, ecology award, inheritance award and “village with distinctive features” award, Dagdong Village and other nine villages won the ecology award.

Dagdong, one of ancient Tibetan villages getting well protected, boasts beautiful environment and long history.

Since the beginning of this year, Dagdong Village has become the key development area with culture characteristics in Lhasa. Dagdong Village mainly builds and develops water system landscape and village architectures. The newly-built Dagdong Village enjoys perfect tourism supporting facilities and comfortable environment.

At the moment, Dagdong Village is developing the highland mountain bike lane and happy Tibetan family project that is a cultural tourism item supported by Lhasa Tourism Bureau. Besides, the Research Center of Highland Specialties was established in Dagdong Village, developing Dagdong's unique products. The tea house beside the lake and rural resort hotel have already been completed.
