Qinghai seabuckthorn corporation signs agreement with South Korean partner
At the 2018 China (Qinghai) International Tibetan Carpet Exhibition, the Qinghai Bozhong Biotech Co., Ltd. signed a Strategic Cooperative Agreement for the Promotion of Seabuckthorn and Ginseng Anti-Aging Products with a South Korean partner, which means the Qinghai seabuckthorn industry will enter the leading ranks of the international market.
China boasts of more than 95 percent of the world’s seabuckthorn resources, of which more than 153,000 hectares are located in Qinghai Province. This accounts for about 12 percent of the country’s total seabuckthorn resources. Because seabuckthorn is very adaptable and is easy to cultivate and manage, it has become an important economic plant resource for overcoming poverty in poverty-stricken areas in western China.
Seabuckthorn not only has ecological benefits of preventing soil erosion, the fruit is also known as the “king of vitamin C” with latent nutritional and medicinal properties. The seabuckthorn industry is now a major highlight in the development of the biotechnology industry in Qinghai.
The agreement signed by Chinese and South Korean enterprises will enable Qinghai-produced seabuckthorn and ginseng produced in Hamyang County of South Gyeongsang Province in South Korea to join together at the World Anti-Aging Expo, which will be held in South Korea in 2020, so as to promote the rapid development and industrialization of both plants through cooperative research and development.
