Forty-three Tibetan children suffering from congenital heart disease will receive free surgery treatment in Zhengzhou, capital of central China's Henan Province, according to the Chinese Red Cross Foundation (CRCF).
Together with the 7th People's Hospital of Zhengzhou, the CRCF initiated this congenital heart disease screening program in Shigatse, the second largest city in southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, from Aug. 1 to 5.
A total of 206 children in the area received the screening.
This is the third time that the CRCF has gathered medical experts to carry out congenital heart disease screening and treatment programs for children in Tibet.
