217 Tibetan texts included in 'List of National Precious Ancient Texts'

Penba Tsering, deputy director of the Tibet Autonomous Region Library, was quoted as saying on July 23 that at present, 217 ancient texts of southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region have been included in the List of National Precious Ancient Texts of China and the Tibet Autonomous Region Archives, Potala Palace, Tibet Museum, and Norbulingka were all named as national key ancient texts protection unit.

Penba Tsering said that a survey to register ancient texts in Tibet is nearing completion, and preservation work will be carried out comprehensively. Digitization is an important part of the work to preserve ancient texts, and Tibet will continue to strengthen such work.
