40th Yarlung Commodity Fair concluded

The 40th Yarlung Commodity Fair just concluded in Lhoka, Tibet, on Dec 7.

This year, the week-long fair attracted almost 2,000 local businesses and more than 1,000 from other provinces, seeing over 650 types of commodities such as wooden bowls, Tibetan chili sauce, and walnuts on sale. On the opening day, the transaction volume exceeded 77 million yuan (about $11.86 million) with over 23,000 participants, suggest the official statistics.

The Fair is held annually from December 1 to 7 from 1981. After 40 years of development, the fair has already become a key platform for Lhoka and even the entire region to promote economic, trade, and cultural exchanges.
