Lhasa’s GDP exceeds 74 billion yuan in 2021

On February 28, Lhasa, capital of Tibet Autonomous Region held a press conference to announce the city's economic performance in 2021. According to the press conference, the GDP of Lhasa reached 74.184 billion yuan (RMB, the same below) in 2021, a year-on-year increase of 6.7% and an average growth of 7.2% in two years.

It is reported that Lhasa achieved a total grain output of 158,400 tons in 2021, an increase of 1.9% over the previous year. Among them, highland barley was 110,600 tons, an increase of 3.9%. Besides, the production of animal husbandry remained basically stable.

The press conference also introduced that in 2021, the per capita disposable income of urban and rural residents in Lhasa were 1,887 yuan and 2,267 yuan higher than the national average respectively. In 2019, the income of rural residents in Lhasa exceeded the national average, and the income of urban residents also exceeded the national average in 2021.
