In August, Nagchu City in the Tibet Autonomous Region ushered in its best season of the year. In the past few days, the 11th Panchen Lama visited his hometown of Nagchu and conducted a series of social activities. He went to monasteries of various sects to worship the Buddha, visit monks, and met his relatives.

It is the 4th time for Panchen Erdeni Choskyi Gyalpo, a leader of Tibetan Buddhism, to return to his hometown since 1995. The Panchen Lama is a member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), vice president of the Buddhist Association of China, and president of the Tibet Branch of the Buddhist Association of China.
