The people of Aba County, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, queued up at the entrance of the county hospital early in the morning after they learned that medical experts from Beijing would come to the hospital to diagnose them free of charge. When the bus with doctors ran into the hospital, the hospital became more crowded. A local Tibetan old man said: “(Doctor) Menpa from Beijing has come. This time, I must go to see the doctor.”

People could see a doctor in different zones of the county hospital. The staff organized people to queue up in the order of registration. There was an old man at the age of 80 and young children in the team. They expected to see the doctor and looked anxious.

The journalist found that there was a long queue in front of Doctor Yang Dan. Despite the large number of patients, the doctor did not show any impatience. He patiently asked about the conditions, examined, wrote prescriptions, and gave medicines.

The journalist interviewed several local patients. An old man said: “I am from Group 3, Xiongwa Village, Gomang Town. A few days ago, I received the notice that the medical team from Beijing would come to the county hospital to diagnose patients free of charge. I came early. The doctor made out a prescription for me. I also received a lot of medicine free of charge. I am really grateful to them. May these doctors live a healthy and long life.”

In the Orthopedic Department, there were also a lot of people. Orthopedic diseases are a big trouble for local people. Many people in the department surrounded a patient called Tashi Nengzhou, a 21-year-old student at Aba Vocational College. The doctor told him that his scoliosis angle had reached 60 degrees and he would be fully supported by the foundation if he underwent the operation.
