On the afternoon of February 16, the launching ceremony of the 2022 Tibetan New Year Goods Expo and Consumption Promotion Event was held at the Wanda Plaza, Chengguan District, Lhasa City, Tibet Autonomous Region. The move aims to enrich the supply of the New Year goods in market and unleash the potential of consumer market.
It is learned that the event will last from February 16 to March 2, with various special high-quality and low-cost goods, providing a “one-stop” platform for citizens to purchase New Year’s goods. In addition to traditional Tibetan New Year goods such as butter and Qiema boxes (rectangular wooden boxes containing roasted barley and fried wheat grain which carry auspicious meanings), there are also many popular goods such as smart home appliances and green food, which can better meet the diversified needs of consumers.
“For this event, we have specially designed products in small packages, hoping our products are favored by more consumers.” Said Liu Fengming, deputy general manager of Tibet Jilong Agricultural Development Co., Ltd.
The event not only provides businesses with an opportunity to display and sell their products, but also a platform for consumers to buy high-quality, cheap and safe goods, so that they can have a happy and peaceful Tibetan New Year, according to a relevant person with the Department of Commerce of the Tibet.
