Chamdo, the east gate to Tibet Autonomous Region, has eradicated absolute poverty with a total of 194,600 people from 38,400 poverty-stricken households shaking off poverty by the end of 2019. All 11 counties and districts in the city were removed from the list of impoverished counties.
The per capita net income of poor residents in Chamdo increased to 9,342.35 yuan in 2019, going up by 93.2% compared to 2015. Farmers and herdsmen are all witnesses of a more convenient living environment with tap water, stable power supply, asphalted roads, and two-story houses available.
