"I'm really looking forward that the Qinghai-Tibet Railway would reach the city of Gyirong on the China-Nepalese border, which will connect Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, with many cities in China, including Lhasa, the capital city of Tibet Autonomous Region. This will be very beneficial and very important to our country," said Jameson Lamudhali Layi, the consul of the Consulate General of Nepal in Lhasa, while being interviewed by reporters from China Tibet Online on January 9th.
As the ongoing friendship and collaborations between China and Nepal continue to develop, the extension of the Lhasa-Shigatse Railway is also a project people of both countries are looking forward to. "The railway will make China-Nepal tourism and trade more convenient, especially between Tibet and Nepal. I really look forward to the day when my friends and I can take a train from Lhasa to Shigatse, the second largest city of Tibet, and it'll take just three hours, am I right?" he said.
