Senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official Chen Xi on Wednesday met with representatives of veteran Party members and cadres at a symposium held in Beijing.

When addressing the symposium, Chen, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of the CPC Central Committee's Organization Department, commended their devotion and contributions to the Party.

In the CPC's century-long history, generations of Party members have remained dedicated to its cause in weal and woe, said Chen, adding that their achievements will always be celebrated by the Party and the people.

Chen called on them to use their rich experience and instruct the public about the Party's history to ensure its good traditions are passed down to the younger generation.
