China's top political advisor Wang Yang on Tuesday called for improved and more effective consultative work by members of committees of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) at all levels.
Wang, chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, made the remarks while presiding over the 16th chairman and vice-chairpersons' meeting of the 13th CPPCC National Committee.
Wang, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said an evaluation on the consultation and deliberation could be used to encourage political advisors to better fulfill their duties.
Political advisors should be guided to improve their ability to research, investigate, communicate with the people and cooperate with others, he added.
The meeting approved a pilot guideline on improving the consultation and deliberation and a pilot working plan on evaluating the consultative work.
Attendees also heard a report on preparations for the second annual session of the 13th CPPCC National Committee in March.
