Employment rate of college graduates from Tibetan-inhabited areas of Qinghai reached 90% in 2018

Reporters were informed on January 15 that in 2018, the employment rate of registered college graduates from Qinghai province was 89.3%, with the employment rate of registered college graduates from the six Tibetan Autonomous Prefectures reached 90%.

The Tibetan-inhabited areas of Qinghai Province is the largest in China outside the Tibet Autonomous Region. Six of China’s 10 Tibetan autonomous prefectures are in Qinghai Province, and the total population in these Tibetan-inhabited areas is 2.1 million people, which is 36 percent of Qinghai’s total population.

Data shows that in 2018, Qinghai Province implemented the policy to reward and subsidize companies that hire college graduates, encouraging companies to hire college graduates. Throughout the year, companies in the province hired 7,862 college graduates, which is 38 percent of registered employment. Of this number, 2,345 college graduates were from Tibetan-inhabited areas, which is an increase of five percent from last year.
