The Double Ninth Festival, also known as Chongyang Festival, falls on October 29 this year, which is the ninth day of the ninth month in the Chinese lunar calendar. The numeral nine, pronounced as "jiu" in Chinese, is a homophone for the word meaning "long-lasting", and symbolizes longevity and eternity.
