Located in the southwest of Nyima County, Nagqu, the Xizang Autonomous Region, about 140 kilometers away from Nyima County, Tangra Yumco is one of the earliest inland lakes in China with magnificent natural landscape, abundant ecological resources, and huge tourism development potential. In August this year, Tangra Yumco was officially listed as a national AAAA tourist attraction.
Yomzhong, at the age of 26, runs his own homestay beside Tangra Yumco Lake. After he graduated from university, Yomzhong worked in a company in Lhasa, but he always missed his hometown. Last year, he came back to his hometown, Ombu Community, Ombu Township, Nyima County, took out a loan of RMB300,000, and renovated the homestay run by his father in the past according to his ideas. He has almost recovered the cost.
In the past, a wide bed for a number of people was used in his father’s homestay. The daily life of tourists was not convenient. After he took over, Yomzhong comprehensively upgraded the homestay. Yomzhong kept the appearance in Tibetan style and employed professional carpenters for decoration. However, he also upgraded the equipment and services of the homestay, so that it could be more convenient for tourists. Besides, he showed the features of the homestay through video content and provided online booking services. Led by him, people operating homestays in the surrounding area also renovated and upgraded their homestays, providing more convenient services for tourists visiting Tangra Yumco.
