Recently, Macao teenagers from a youth study group visited Tongren City, Huangnan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, which is renowned as the birthplace of Regong art.
During their visit, students had the opportunity to engage directly in the Thangka painting process, gaining a deeper appreciation for the cultural depth and artistic beauty of this unique Tibetan art form.
Regong art encompasses various artistic expressions, including Thangka paintings, barbola works, and sculptures. It was inscribed on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2009.
