Qinghai Tibetan Cultural Museum is a comprehensive institution dedicated to the collection, preservation, exhibition, and scholarly study of Tibetan culture. Within the museum’s Tibetan Folk Customs Hall, over 50 sets of Tibetan costumes are curated and displayed for public appreciation.

Tibetan costumes have a long history and various forms. More than 200 types of costumes have been discovered. In some areas, the variations in costumes can be significant, differing notably by county and township.
At significant occasions such as weddings and festivals, Tibetan people don traditional costumes adorned with a variety of colorful jewelry, showcasing a magnificent “fashion show” on the plateau.
