The Lhari Ancient Road History and Culture Exhibition Hall was recently opened in Lhari Town, Lhari County, Nagqu, Xizang. It is Xizang’s first exhibition hall dedicated to the history and culture of ancient roads.

The exhibition area of the hall spans nearly 350 square meters. Centered around the themes of “Cultural Integration Along the Ancient Road” and “Road of Inheriting the Red Spirit”, it provides a rich display of cultural relics, photographs, literature, and multimedia presentations which vividly bring to life the historical essence and significance of red culture along the Lhari ancient roads.

It has been reported that Lhari County is a significant region traversed by several historical routes, including the post road along the Silk Road on the Plateau, the Tang-Tubo Ancient Road, the Tea-Horse Road, and the Sichuan-Xizang Official Road during the Qing Dynasty. It also served as part of the route taken by the People's Liberation Army (PLA) 18th Army during its historic march to Xizang. Furthermore, Lhari County stands out as one of the areas with some of the most comprehensive and precise historical records, abundant archaeological remains, and a rich cultural heritage that reflects the process of unity in diversity within Chinese civilization in Nagqu.
