Memorial Hall for the Liberation of Serfs in Tibet visited on March 28

March 28 is the anniversary of the liberation of serfs in Tibet. To commemorate the 63rd anniversary of this important day, people from all sectors of society visited the Memorial Hall for the Liberation of Serfs in Tibet.

59-year-old Tenzin told reporters that he is from Doilungdeqen District, Lhasa City, and his parents were former serfs. His mother is now 79 years old, who experienced the darkness of the serfdom system and now enjoys a happy life in the new society. Tenzin found many scenes that his mother had described to him in the memorial hall. He said that he and his three siblings now all have decent jobs.

The main hall of the memorial hall shows the magnificent history of the great democratic reform carried out by all ethnic groups in Tibet under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, the liberation of serfs, and the building of a new socialist Tibet.

The memorial hall officially opened to the public for free on March 28, 2021. As of March 12, 2022, it has received a total of 212,505 visitors.
