First female Tibetan pilot from an impoverished background
The Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau was once called a "flying restricted area", and it was extremely difficult to fly a helicopter here. In 2016, with the completion of the Jiangsu Province Aid Tibet project Snow Eagle General Aviation Company, it became a reality to see the Lhasa city and Tibet from the clouds.
As a targeted poverty alleviation project, the company has enabled 28 Tibetans from impoverished families to realize their dreams of flying.
22-year-old Janre Yeshe comes from an impoverished family in Damshung County, Lhasa. She was one of 28 Tibetans who succeeded in their dreams and was the first female Tibetan pilot to obtain a license.
Prior to becoming a helicopter pilot, Janre Yeshe's life revolved around her family's cattle and sheep: grazing, shearing, and weaving Tibetan blankets. The life of herders is simple and impoverished.
When she was a child, she liked to play with paper planes, but she did not expect to really fly in the blue sky when she grew up. She said that it was the country's good anti-poverty policies that gave her the opportunity to change her destiny, and at the same time to make her life at home better and better. She plans to use this skill to give back to the society, the country, and the people who helped her.
