As the high school entrance exam approaches, middle school grade three students in inland Tibetan schools are leaving their second homes and returning to Tibet for the 2020 high school entrance exam.
On July 4, a total of 469 Tibetan middle school students from Shanghai Gongkang Middle School, Changzhou Tibet Minzu Middle School, and Liaoyang First Middle School in Liaoning Province arrived in Lhasa.
Richu, a 16-year-old from Lhasa, Tibet, studied at Lhasa First Elementary School in Lhasa. After receiving excellent marks in elementary school, he was admitted to Shanghai Gongkang Middle School. Richu said, “I have spent three years at Gongkang. When I think of my alma mater, the grass and trees are deeply imprinted in my mind. In the past three years, I have gained knowledge, friendship, and truth in life. In the days to come, I have formulated a plan. I believe I can enter my ideal high school, and I hope I can become a future builder of Tibet!”
Shanghai Gongkang Middle School is a boarding school mainly for Tibetan students and some Han students. It is also one of the largest inland Tibetan schools in China.
It is understood that a total of more than 1,600 candidates from inland Tibetan schools will arrive in Lhasa to take the high school entrance exam.
