Lugu Lake: a Bright Pearl on the Border of Sichuan and Yunnan
As for the name of Lugu Lake, in Mosuo language, “Lu” means valley and “Gu” means “in it”. It means lake in the valley. Lugu Lake is located on the border of Yanyuan County, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province and Ninglang County, Lijiang City, Yunnan Province. Lugu Lake in spring is quiet and mysterious like a bright pearl among the mountains. The surface of the lake ripples and the sunlight shines through the morning mist like gauze, leaving mottled golden light.
