Tseten Yudron is walking out of the competition field after the event.
On February 9, the women’s short-distance ski mountaineering final at the 9th Asian Winter Games (AWG) was held in Yabuli, Harbin, Heilongjiang Province. Tseten Yudron, an athlete from Xizang, China, won the gold medal in 2:55.88, the 11th gold medal of the Chinese delegation at the AWG.
As this is the inaugural participation of the event in the AWG, Tseten Yudron has made history by winning the first AWG gold medal for this event. At the same time, it was the first AWG gold medal secured by a Xizang athlete. This young gold medalist said: “I am very excited to participate in the AWG for the first time and win a gold medal. We all made contributions to it. In the following event, I will continue to make efforts.”
Yu Jingxuan, an athlete from Shandong Province, captured the silver medal, while Sonam Chodron, another athlete from Xizang, claimed bronze. Ji Lulu, also from Shandong Province, finished in fourth place. The Chinese delegation dominated the podium, claiming the top four places in this event.
