In the early morning of January 8, rescuers from the Xigaze branch of the Xizang Forest Fire Brigade prepared meals for the earthquake-affected residents at the relocation site of Yejiang Village, Tsogo Township. The locals received hot food and drinks including noodles, porridge, boiled eggs, sweet tea, after a 6.8-magnitude earthquake jolted Dingri County in the city of Xigaze at 9:05 a.m. Tuesday (Beijing Time).
