This year, December 2 marks the October 1 in the Tibetan calendar when every year local people would celebrate “the first day of the Gongbo New Year”. At this beautiful moment of ringing out the old year and ringing in the new, the people of Bayi District, Nyingchi gathered together, sang, and danced, integrating gratitude for the harvest of the year with happiness for celebtation, wishing a better next year with a festive and lively “Village New Year Gala”.

Villagers, young and old, have all dressed up in festive clothes with Gongbo special. They watched the performances chatted with each other, and participated in folk customs such as the whistling archery competition. It became a sea of joy on site.
