Drepung Monastery is located in the Gebeiwoze Mountain Col in the western suburbs of Lhasa. It is a monastery of the Gelug Sect of Tibetan Buddhism. Together with Ganden Monastery and Sera Monastery, it is known as the three major monasteries in Lhasa.
