On November 30, the 2019 “One Heart: China Hearts” award ceremony was held at the Beijing Nationalities Theatre. Nearly a thousand medical volunteers and compassionate people from the community attended the award ceremony.
At the ceremony, 260 volunteers and volunteer teams were commended for their efforts.
Since 2008, volunteers with the “One Heart: China Hearts” public welfare program have traveled to nearly 20 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions including Sichuan, Ningxia, Inner Mongolia, Tibet, Qinghai, Gansu, and Yunnan, where they have provided high-quality volunteer medical services to more than 560,000 people; trained more than 50,000 medical staff for over 800 times; carried out more than 710 health education lectures for 100,000 people of all ethnic groups; donated 300 million RMB (about 42.6 million US dollars); performed free surgery on more than 1,500 children with congenital heart disease; and brought sight back to nearly a thousand cataracts patients.
