The 6th World Buddhist Forum will begin on Oct. 15 in the city of Ningbo in east China's Zhejiang Province. The three-day event will be attended by Buddhists, experts, scholars and delegates from 72 countries and regions.
Themed "Hand in Hand for Coexistence", the forum aims to delve into the essence of Buddhism, its ideological connotations and practical values, and seek consensus and practical approaches to address global challenges in an ever-evolving world by fostering communication and mutual understanding among various religious communities and different civilizations. Meanwhile,it contributes to the improvement of the well-being of all individuals, gathering wisdom and strength for building a community with a shared future for humanity, and promoting world peace.
Featuring exhibitions, music performances and ceremonies, the forum serves as a diverse and dynamic platform. It includes one main seminar and several side discussions on topics such as the wisdom of inclusiveness in Buddhism, the digitalization of Buddhist scriptures and the charm of Buddhist art.
First launched in 2006, the triennial forum has successfully organized five editions, and evolved into the largest and most influential multilateral platform for international Buddhist-related exchange and dialogue initiated by China.
