In order to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Tibet’s democratic reform, using photos and short videos to show the new achievements, new changes, and new images of New Tibet and promote its cultural and artistic development. The “60th Anniversary of Tibet’s Democratic Reform” Short Video and Photo Exhibition, which is being sponsored by China’s Tibet magazine, China Tibet Online, China Television Artists Association, and Tibet Autonomous Region Federation of Literature and Art, and co-organized by the Tibet Autonomous Region Photographers Association, is calling for professional photographers, video production teams, and amateurs to submit works for the exhibition. Works should mainly show Tibet’s achievements in development, its magnificent scenery, rich ethnic custom, and traditional culture since democratic reform was initiated in Tibet.

II. Outline of Honors

1. The organizational committee will have experts evaluate the submitted works. A list of selected works will be published on China Tibet Online for one week. The selected works will also be displayed on media platforms such as China’s Tibet magazine and China Tibet Online.

2. China’s Tibet magazine and China Tibet Online will chose three to five authors of selected works to participate in annual interviews in Tibet during 2019.

3. The exhibition will choose 60 outstanding photos, 20 outstanding short videos, and award certificates and remuneration to the winners.

III. Rules for Collection of Works

1. Collection time: From the date of this article’s publication to December 31, 2018 (at the time the email is received).

2. The exhibition is open to artists from all China’s provinces, municipalities, autonomous regions (including the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Macau Special Administrative Region, and Taiwan), as well as and overseas Chinese photographers, video production teams, and amateurs.

3. The exhibition will only accept pictures and short videos taken after the democratic reform of Tibet. Pictures are not limited to color, black or white; single or group photos are all welcome.

4. There are four categories in the exhibition: “Natural Ecology”, “Social Life”, “Colorful Culture”, and “Historical Changes”. The same author may choose to submit to multiple categories, but the same work may not be submitted to more than one category. The organizers reserve the right to adjust the category of the submitted works.

5. Specifications: The exhibition will only accept electronic submissions. Photos must be sent in JPG format with 2,000 pixels required for the length edge of the work. Short videos must be no longer than five minutes and require clear sound and picture. Please use “author name + title of work + province/region” as the file name when submitting.

6. Please fill in the registration form carefully. The file name written on this form should match the file name of the corresponding work. Submissions should be sent by email to: tphoto@qq.com. 7. There will be no fee for submitting to the exhibition and no works will be withdrawn once submitted.

8. Photo works require real records. Except for cropping required for the composition, the original image must not be altered. Color photos may be converted into black and white (including monochrome) as a whole image (not partially). Moderate adjustments of tone and color which do not violate the objective and true image of the photo are permitted.

9. Video works can be shot with professional cameras, DV, SLR, and mobile phones. Clear images and normal colors are required. Audio can be recorded live or dubbed post-recording.

10. Contributors should ensure that their work has independent, complete, clear, and uncontroversial copyrights. Contributors should also ensure that the works they submit do not infringe on the legitimate rights and interests of any third party, including copyright, portrait rights, reputation rights, and privacy rights. Organizers of the event do not assume (including but not limited to) legal liability arising from disputes over portrait rights, reputation rights, privacy rights, copyrights, and trademark rights. In the event of a dispute mentioned above, the Organizing Committee reserves the right to cancel a work’s participation in the event and take back any awards.

IV. Other Instructions

1. All collected works will be entered into the China Tibet Online photo library. If any collected works are used by the organizer, the author will be paid accordingly. The organizer reserves the right to use any collected work at any time, including but not limited to copying, distributing, exhibiting, publication, screening, and dissemination for magazines, websites, and new media publications.

2. The Organizing Committee reserves the final rights for this solicitation notice and the collection process.
