Nyingchi is located in the southeastern part of Tibet, in the middle and lower reaches of the Yarlung Zangbo River. Thanks to the Indian Ocean’s water vapor zone and scattered lakes, the climate in Nyingchi is warm and humid and the vegetation is lush. It has well-preserved virgin landscapes and pastoral scenery. The average altitude here is 3,000 meters, lower than other places in Tibet, but with huge altitude drop. It has the world’s largest canyon and famous snow-capped Namjiagbarwa Peak.
