The Rutog white cashmere goat in Ngari prefecture of the Tibet Autonomous Region is well-known at home and abroad for its characteristics of "the purest blood relationship, the cashmere fineness, the hair follicle density, and the even thickness of the single fiber". As early as in August 2018, Rutog County already had two national brand protection marks, the "RutogCashmere" National Geographical Mark and the "Rutog White Cashmere Goat" National Agricultural Product Geographical Mark. In recent years, the County has focused on the resources of white cashmere goats and made efforts to build the brand of "Hometown of Cashmere Goats", which has helped increase the income of local farmers and herdsmen. The cashmere of the county is honored as the "soft gold" paving the way for farmers and herdsmen to a well-off life.
