On September 21, the Fifth Ngari Mountain Bike Cross-Country Challenge took place in Xizang’s Ngari Prefecture. Under the theme “Enchanting Burang County: A Mysterious Snowy Region,” this event attracted 70 riders from 10 teams across the region and beyond, who embarked on a challenging high-altitude journey through beautiful Ngari. Participants were treated to breathtaking scenery that accompanied every stage of the race.

This year’s event featured three categories: men’s individual mountain biking, women’s individual mountain biking, and team competitions. The 62-kilometer course meandered along the lakeside road of Mapam Yumco Lake and passed by Mount Gang Rinpoche. Participants commenced their journey from Hor Township in Burang County, circled the lake, and sprinted towards the finish line at Jiwu Village.
