From July 12 to 19, the summer preexamination for the promotion of monks studying scriptures in Tibetan Buddhism to the Geshe Lharampa Degree in 2026 was conducted at Ganden Monastery in Lhasa, Xizang.
In Tibetan, “Geshe” translates to “good knowing advisors.” The title of Geshe Lharampa represents the traditional highest academic degree awarded for the study of Exoteric Buddhism within the Gelug Sect of Tibetan Buddhism. This year, a total of 13 monks participated in the summer preexamination.
