Recently, China revealed its list of top 10 archaeological discoveries for 2024, including the Mabu Tsho site in Khangmar County, Xigaze City, Xizang Autonomous Region. Situated at an altitude of 4,410 to 4,430 meters along the shores of Mabu Tsho Lake and covering an area of over 140,000 square meters, Mabu Tsho site stands as the earliest known and the highest-altitude lakeside Neolithic settlement in the heart of the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau. It is remarkable for its well-defined cultural sequence and long duration of occupation.
