Recently, the Culture and Tourism Department of the Xizang Autonomous Region announced the list of the fifth batch of representative inheritors of intangible cultural heritage (ICH) at the regional level. 101 inheritors from different fields have been successfully recognized, covering fields like folk literature, Tibetan opera, traditional handicrafts, traditional sports and acrobatics, injecting new vitality into the protection and inheritance of traditions in Xizang.

Up to now, there are a total of 1,790 representative ICH inheritors in the whole region, including 117 national-level ICH inheritors, 623 regional-level ICH inheritors, 334 municipal-level ICH inheritors, and 716 ICH inheritors at the county level.
