Recently, students from Kong Fansen Primary School in Gar County, Ngari Prefecture, Xizang, embarked on a unique cultural journey in Qufu, Shandong Province.
Qufu, the birthplace of Confucius, stands as a living museum of Chinese civilization. At the Confucius Temple, the children touched the ancient cypress tree that have stood for over two thousand years, recited passages from “The Analects”, and crafted bamboo slips inscribed with Confucian sayings, enjoying a taste of profound history with their own touch. At the Confucius Museum, they marveled at a towering Confucius sculpture assembled from acrylic panels, and listened to captivating stories behind various relics. Within the shadow puppet studio of the Confucius Mansion, vivid and lifelike figures danced behind screens while children watched attentively, fully immersed in the allure of traditional Chinese culture. Each scene drawn from deep historical roots provided these young learners with an enlightening lesson on the enduring vitality of Chinese civilization.
