Born in 1988 in Chatreng County, Garze Prefecture, Sichuan Province, Zhuozhuo commenced his studies under a local thangka master at the age of 14 and produced his first independent works by the age of 17. He subsequently engaged in advanced studies at prominent art academies, where he acquired knowledge in traditional Chinese painting, Song dynasty artistry, and the intricate murals of Dunhuang.

In his thangka practice, he emphasizes the use of pigments derived from natural minerals and plants, while integrating techniques from various Tibetan schools of painting. Over the years, he has cultivated a distinctive style deeply rooted in the Miantang tradition, garnering admiration from thangka enthusiasts home and aboard.

In 2009, he established the Shambhala Thangka Studio, where he has since trained over 30 thangka artists, committed to preserving and promoting this revered art form.
